Chaweng Beach is the most famous and the longest beach on Koh Samui island. It has very clear water and very smooth sand. There are plenty of bars, shops, restaurants, discotheques and other. It is the main tourist centre and nightlife area. Most resorts and hotels are located here. One of them is the Seascape Beach Resort, which is located just near the Chaweng Beach. The beach is about five kilometres long. It is bordered by rocky headlands on either end, with an offshore reef and the tiny island of Koh Matlam to the North. You can take a walk from one end to the other end of the beach. The Chaweng Beach offers very great swimming and plenty of water sports and dining options. As the sun goes down, many of restaurants put out tables on the sand. There is a very romantic ambience when they light up candles and fairy lights. From water sports you will find many places that rent catamarans, jet skis, kayaks, banana boats and other. You can have an affordable massage right on the beach, which is one of the great luxury for tourists. Most of the beach masseurs offer Thai or oil massages and also aloe vera body wraps for those that overdosed the sun. Lots of vendors patrol Chaweng beach selling fruit, ice creams, fruit, cold drinks, sarongs, jewelry, grilled sweetcorn or chicken and Thai papaya salad and other. They also offer services as pedicures, hair braiding and tattoos. The vendors are not too persistent and mostly polite. They often come from Thailand's poor northeastern provinces. The Chaweng Beach is not the most peaceful or secluded of Koh Samui's beaches, but everything one can desire is within a few metres.
