The ghostly mummified monk is situated at Wat Khunaram complex, south of Rte 4169 between Ban Hua Thanon and Ban Thurian. The monk, Luang Phaw Daeng, has been dead over two decades but his corpse is preserved sitting in a meditative pose. The Samui's most famous mummified monk is a popular tourist attraction. Admission to the temple with the monk is free, but guests are reminded to dress in modest clothing. The mummified monk is displayed in a specially constructed building. You can visit it alone or with the organized tour. There are two temples. The monk is in a smaller one. The bigger temple is very impressive and beautiful. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha and the ball made from stone with a name Nimid.
